About The Author – Born in the picturesque but tranquil settlement of Staniard Creek, Andros to professional chef, the late Hilliard George and business owner Naomi Bain-Clarke; Joyce received her earlty education at the Staniard Creek all Age Public School, Teacher’s certificate at the Bahamas Teachers college and BSc. Ed at The University of Miami. A retired teacher/ Administrator her teaching experience expanded from 1950-1998 which includes four family Islands and twelve New Providence schools. A mother of six adult children, she now reside in New Providence. She enjoys reading, writing, gardening and traveling. The book tells of her life growing up in her home town.
